The company is a US-based startup. The company was aimed to develop a better solution for delivering fresh foods from local farms to consumers at a fair price.
The company launched a new farm-to-phone App to connect consumers with growers within their area. They were looking for a technical partner to improve the software, develop new UX features, and fix bugs.
The task was to ensure that entrepreneurs get the same price as if they'd sold produces at the farmers' market. Farmers were to become enabled to update the assortment, change wholesale and retail prices, and manage orders from their mobile devices.
iOS and Android applications make it easy for customers to search for and purchase products. Users can browse fresh produce and homemade cooked meals available in their area with a few tapping on their smartphones' screens.
The food producer, in turn, doesn't have to spend time away from the farm, hire sellers at farmers' markets, or worry about logistics costs and wastes.
An App facilitates the selling process because buyers and farmers can communicate directly with one another. Moreover, farmers and SMEs can build their brands with lessened expenses on marketing and promotional activities.
Results
Platform reduces the role of middlemen who are hindering the trading sector in the agriculture
The App has formed an extensive customer database and helped to increase farmers’ annual income by up to $20,000. Now, the company plans to expand across the country – to involve more farmers and buyers.
