Cellar Ventures, Inc is a California-based company that operates as an intermediary agency between wineries and their customers on the global market. The company helps cellar owners export wines via convenient channels and sell wine bottles directly to end-buyers in the US.

In 2020, Cellar has contacted Inmost with an idea to create a digital solution that would enhance the global wine trade and make it easier for both producers and consumers to sell wine bottles across borders.

The company needed an app that people can refer to and find all information about a particular wine, including vintage, varietal, appellation, and producer. The solution needed to be perfect in terms of UI/UX parameters - to compete and take the market share away from other apps in the niche.

What we delivered



As a contracted software development provider, Inmost took the case and applied a “full-cycle” approach. We participated at every stage of product development - from the discovery stage, including competing Apps overview, to the development itself and post-release testing.

CELLR app was designed to be a destination for wine lovers. Not only can they search for wine-related information - users can purchase wine bottles, including some exclusive ones from private collections.

The App’s users can create wish lists, receive recommendations, and even trade with other cellar owners. They also can score wines, see overall ratings, leave photos and comments. Wine sellers, on the other hand, can use App to take inventory of their cellars' stocks and set prices for wine bottles.

We’ve used an advanced tech stack to make CELLR App convenient and user-friendly. Below are just a few key features Inmost has delivered:

• wine label recognition with the help of AR

• an option to conveniently buy a bottle of wine or put it up for sale via the smartphone

• an option to either order delivery to the doorstep or to pick wine bottles up from a delivery point

• users can save selected wines to their inventory lists

• the “Intellicheck” function. This assures that only verified users can buy and sell wines; moreover, app users who are younger than 21 can’t opt for purchasing wines

• convenient browsing options, including search by wine labels and other parameters

• a full database of wines containing 1,500,000+ million supplies

• an option to import saved information from inventories and wishlists - from Vivino and CellarTracker

• Cellar Ventures guarantees that a buyer gets an exact bottle of wine he or she has paid for.
